I want to buy tickets to a concert.. but it says general admission... what does this mean exactly? that if I get to the theatre first I will get to go where I want?

If the theater has seats, it means first come-first served. Call the theater to find out. There will be a huge crush of people waiting for the doors to open, so, if you want to get a decent seat (near the stage), be prepared to get there VERY early, several hours before the doors are scheduled to open. The bigger the attraction, the earlier you have to get there. I have been to big-name concerts where people have slept out overnight in order to be at the head of the line.
If the theater does not have seats, it means that everyone will be standing, and the same scenario regarding getting there early applies.
If you have never gone to a concert or other event with this "general admission" ticketing, be warned: people can get pretty aggressive about getting in those doors. If you're going with friends, try to have a plan worked out in advance as to how and where you will rendezvous inside in case you get separated. There is nothing worse than spending the concert trying to find everybody you came with. Unless the theater forbids it, make sure you and at least one other person in the group have cell phones.
I've been to some pretty insane events (crowd-wise), so, I speak from experience. Just be careful and smart and you'll have fun no matter where you end up sitting (or standing).

The tickets all cost the same. If you get there first it should be first come, first served,, sit where ever you please.
general admission usually means that its a ticket to a concert you will be standing at. If it says pretty much anything else it will be a sitting concert.. i'm sure you know that a concert that you stand at, you have a good chance of getting closer to the stage.. i always try to buy general admission
Not under a certain age, not over a certain age, unreserved tickets.
The seats are not reserved, you sit with the masses.
