Math question.?

"A movie theatre charges $7.50 for adults and $4.50 for children. The receipts for one showing of a movie were $540. If 80 tickets were sold, find how many tickets of each type were sold."

I'm just checking my answers here... do you know the answer? Please show me how you got to your answer. :)

Math question.?violin

adult tickets, variable = 'a'

child tickets, variable = 'c'

You know two things: the total amount sold

$7.50 a + $4.50 c = $540

and the total number of tickets

a + c = 80

Solve the second equation for one of the variables. Let's do a, so a = 80 - c

plug a = 80 - c back into the first equation,

7.5 (80 - c) + 4.5 c = 540

(7.5 x 80) - 7.5 c + 4.5 c = 540

600 - 3 c = 540

600 - 540 = 3c (subtracted 540 and 3c from each side)

3c = 60

c = 20 (20 children's tickets)

plug c back into the second equation to find out how many adult tickets

a + c = 80

a = 80 - c

a = 80 - 20

a = 60 (60 adult tickets)

Double check, does 60 x 7.5 and 20 x 4.5 add up to 540?

450 + 90 = 540

Yee Haw. 60 adult tickets and 20 child tickets.

(If you need to solve for two variables, you need to have two equations. Solve for one variable using the first equation, then plug the result of that back into the second and you have your solution.)

Math question.?chinese theater opera theater

You have 2 equations from the word problem:

7.50x + 4.50y = 540

x + y = 80

Isolate x:

x = 80 - y

Sub in x value for first equation:

7.5(80-y) + 4.50y = 540

600 - 7.5y + 4.5y = 540

-3y = -60

y = 20

Sub y back into 2nd equation to get x:

x + 20 = 80

x = 60

Now you have the answer:

20 children, 60 adult
7.5 * X + 4.50 * (80 - x) = 540

7.5X + 360 - 4.5X = 540

3X = 180

X = 60

80 - (60) = 20

So they bought 60 adult tickets at $7.50 and 20 child tickets at $4.50
7.5 * X + 4.50 * (80 - x) = 540

7.5X + 360 - 4.5X = 540

3X = 180

X = 60

80 - (60) = 20

simple
X+Y=80

7.5X+4.5Y=540

if X+Y=80 then Y=-X+80

Plug in the equation for Y

7.5X+4.5(-X+80)=540

Distibute 4.5

7.5X-4.5X+360=540

Subtract 360 and combine the variables.

3X=180

Divide by 3

X=60

Plug X into the first equation

X+Y=80

60+Y=80

Subtract 60

Y=20

So, your final answer is that 60 adult ticks and 20 children's tickets were sold

Are there any bad seats at the Civic Auditorium in San Diego?

Me and girlfried are going to a concert there on the 16, but we got the tickets late, so our seats arent great. Are there any bad seats in the theatre? We are on the third teir. (total seats about 3,000) please help!

Are there any bad seats at the Civic Auditorium in San Diego?sunshine

Sorry but I think the top tier is terrible for anything there. The sound is poor and visibility is very limited. It can also be hot up there. I saw Cats from the top tier years ago and never got to see the costumes which are suppose to be a big deal...they were just too far away to see.

If you find you can't stand the seats you might wait a bit and see if you can go to the standing room only area at the very back of the bottom floor, where the sound is really good. There's like a little wall where you can stand and for some reason the sound is better there than the rows in front of the wall.

It's nosebleed and you're looking down but it's not that bad for concerts.

What should I do about my fellow female work colleague?

We are both secretaries (both of us are women) and mentioned that I like going to the theatre. She then said she'd like to go sometime and I said OK. I printed out from lastminute.com the kind of shows that are around now and said I usually pay over the internet for tickets. I said we'll go in a few weeks' time, as I'll be on holiday. I've now come back from holiday and there's no mention of a night out at the theatre. I really get sick of chasing after people (I've had this all my life - though of course she doesn't know this, as I've only known her a few months). Shall I let her mention about our night out or should I?

What should I do about my fellow female work colleague?musicals

why bother with her at all? surely you can find another friend who will go with you, who will not mess you about like that. actions speak louder than words, and i dont think your work mate is really that interested. all talk, and nothing else!

What should I do about my fellow female work colleague?opera songs opera theaterhope you enjoy theatre night out. Report It

sounds like you have issues. its always me, me, me, me with you. have you thought that maybe she likes the theater but not with you
Of course you should. And forget about your past experiences; just tell her that you want to know how she wants to do it blah blah.... Make it to be a very normal question. Don't let your past ruin your new scheme.
yes!! just say to her the tickets have arrived for the show and you are really looking forward to it. she may have completely forgotten about. good luck and have fun at the show!
Give it a mention and see what her reaction is. Some people are just like that - don't take offence and keep organising.
heck bye the tickets and ask around the office.. then she might get the hint.

or it could be she was only being nice and really does not want to go with you.... and she is hoping you forgot.
Be brave and just talk to her! You said its been this way all your life, the reason for that is - you let it happen. I'm really not having a go - this used to happen to me, you've just got to realise yourself and not be afraid to say things in an assertive and positive manner. What's the worst that can happen? Don't worry, go for it.
choose the show that you would like to see, then go up to her and tell her that you are going to see this show, and if she would like to come to on your chosen date and time. If she cannot come, leave it at that. She can always come to ask you herself if she wants to.
you should she might be pre occupied and have forgotten, give her a chance
If you still want to go with her then yes mention it. She maybe thinks that if you are the one to buy the tickets, then the ball is in your court %26amp; shes waiting for you to mention it again. You don't need to chase after her, just mention the night out %26amp; see what her response is - if she is positive about it then set a date %26amp; book the tickets.
just the once, tell her you intend to go and ask if she is still interested, I am always in the same boat as you but it's people like us that keep the world spinning!! if she wants to go then get the money up front. I have spent all this year being stubborn, trying to stop myself from organising other peoples social lives, it was my new year resolution, you know what happened? my so called friends moved on to others and still have a social life whilst I am left feeling like billy no mates!! still, I feel better now I got my head around it, I am ruthless now and don't give time wasters a second chance!!
I would mention it to her again - if you do want to go to the theatre with her - after all if she's had a busy time in your absence as you were on holiday she may not have been able to give it any thought.
You have made the first move,so no-don't go chasing after people, that stuff gets up my nose too.Time for her to say something now.
its not all that important is it
Just be straight and forward and ask her if she still wants the night out
Why not mention it to her?

Some people get so rapped up in day to day life that some forget. Or she may have issues about being excepted etc.

Who could pass up going to a show? lol! For my sixteenth b day my mom took me to the theater and it was the best!

Good luck!

Fans should boycott going to baseball games because of high-paid players. Don't you know that y

paying for these guys salaries? With every $8 bud light you buy, with every $6 hot dog, etc. Paying $30 for the ticket is nothing. Once they got you in the ballpark, the average fan, forks out an additional $50-$100 per game, on food, drinks, alcohol, merchandise, etc. You are paying for these guys salaries. I would only go to a game in a small-market stadium, like the Marlins or Royals or D-Rays, where you can probably still find a $5 seat. But the problem is, once you're in there, you're in there for 3 plus hours. That's where they get you, they get to your wallets. Teams make a lot of money on attendance, no doubt, but they make 2-3 times that much on food, beer, and merch. Especially in cities like Boston, Chicago, LA, NY, Seattle, where tickets are expensive. Bottom line, don't complain about player's salaries if you are still going to games, because you are paying for their MTV Cribs, hummers, dvd players in the back seat, home theatre systems, etc, by going to the game

Fans should boycott going to baseball games because of high-paid players. Don't you know that you fans areperforming arts show

You're right, of course, but what are you going to do? Go without baseball and then all the athletes will just go into other sports. It's a rotten situation, yes, when teachers can't make enough to live on, but, really, it's going to take a social change larger than just boycotting baseball to change it.

Besides, it's the owners more than the players to blame. Neither group gives shucks about the fans, but the owners have been larcenous since the beginning. I don't mind the players being over paid (they could earn a little less) but I hate when they behave like fans are a necessary evil.

So einstien , how many DVDs do you rent a month? and how many movies do you attend each month? Do you buy any music, how bout the internet? yep thats right you are helping SOMEONE to get rich by having a internet provider.........Dude EVERYTHING costs money...so dont single out Baseball fans...at least they are spending their money in a Legal way and are not out betting on Dogs!!!!!
You are right that is why i go to very few games these days. last straw for me was when they expected me to pay for a $350 ticket to see a game as if they where doing me a favor.
If you don't like you don't have to go to the game. Just watch it on tv. Go cry somewhere else.

Go Red Sox, The highest priced tickets
Then you have to boycott the movies, televison, and music. They are paid more than baseball players. Reese Witherspoon is payed $30 million a movie!! You figure if she makes 2 movies a year, that is $60 million a year!! Would you say that she is one of the best actresses in the world? I wouldn't. A-Rod is the highest paid player in baseball and he does not get nearly that much. At least he is the best in the world at his profession.
Actually, if you want to have an impact, stop watching the games on TV.

The real money is in TV revenue from ad sales -- not stadium sales.

Additionally, teams share revenue, so player salaries aren't directly dictated by your going to a game anyway. As long as the Yankees are a huge draw, the Royals will benefit, regardless of the payroll disparity.

So, if you are upset about salaries you really have to boycott the game entirely, including TV. This is where the argument of "I refuse to pay to go to games" fails -- many of those fans still watch the games on TV, thus subsidizing "the machine" to a much greater degree.
I haven't been to a ballgame in about four years and I almost never go to the movies. You're absolutely right. I can wait for movies to come out on DVD that way a bunch of people can watch a movie for one price.
Oh shut up. Take your pinko commie rants somewhere else.
So what if we pay for there salaries? games are still fun to go to.

How was Saw 4 in terms of being ID'd?

I'm 18 years old, but I don't have a picture ID, only my health card and such, which won't be any good to the threatre, so I'm getting a buddy of mine who has his drivers license to buy me my ticket (which annoys me, but what can you do), and I was wondering will they ID me at the door? No one here knows the answer to this, but if you saw the movie, could you give me an idea of the security there?

I saw Jackass 2 a few months back and they ID'd us 3 times before the door, and we had to pay the guy tearing the tickets 20 bucks to get in.

I've got planned to start a fuss with the manager if they question me about having ID.

I'm 18. I look like I'm in my mid 20s, but I still get ID'd by 16 year olds all around the theatre. It annoys me soo much.

Anyways, let me know it was for you and what I can expect.

Thank you,

Mark

Depends on the movie theater you go to. Usually big chain movie theaters are much more strict about their ID policy. Even if you look 30 most of them will still ID you. Smaller local ones are usually easier to get into.

OMG!!! This can't be happening!?

K, so my mom bought me tickets to a My chemical romance show and A Panic at the disco show. BUT, the theatre that they both are at only allows 16 and up. But, they shows that I'm going to say all ages admitted. SO, does that mean that I can go? I will be totally devastated if I can't! They are my 2 favorite bands!!! Btw, I'm 14 and like a half. So, that do you think they are trying to say???

OMG!!! This can't be happening!?concert tickets

Woahhh! your mom loves you so!!!!!!!! my mom is afraid of MCR, she turns off my computer when she sees my wallpaper which is a really awexxxome pic of MCR and TBP... :(

I think that you'll be fine! I've heard of younger people at their concerts, but I'll tell you something.... Gerard does some stuff that are not for 10 year old kids to see, yet the things he does are fun.. the language is not very appropiated for a PG 13 audience neither, but what the heck!!!!!!!!! u don't get to see them everyday. Go to the show and enjoy it! xD

if its an all ages show they should so let you go
Both bands play all ages shows. I've taken my 11 year old niece to see both bands. I can't imagine why they wouldn't be, both bands have positive messages for their young fans.
You can call the venue to ask, but if the tickets say "all age admitted" you should be able to go.
If the show says all-ages, you can get in. If you want, you can call the venue (or have your mom do it) and ask just to be positive.

And why is this in Tattoos?
im sure u can!MCR concert i went...saw a kid like 11 years of age!No problem!!MCR RULES %26amp; SAVES LIVES...!!
well if the ticket say all ages admitted then that is what it means...even though the club only allows 16 and older, they can allow different ages for "special events" like the 2 you have tickets for...so go and enjoy...cause all ages admitted!!
it depends where you read it at. if it was on a website, it may just be a typo or error. if it says it on the schedule or a sign at the theater, it is probably correct. try calling p the theater it's at. they probably have the number in the phone book or on the ticket. hope this helped!
I'm jealous those are my 2 fave bands too!

If it said that all ages admitted on the scheduly thingy then u can get it
I think you can still go, but probably with someone over 16 or something. I am 13 and I went to a Panic concert, so I think you will be good. And no fair, you get to go to MyChem?!!? LUCKY. Are you seeing them with Billy Talent, cuz if so, LUCKY!! I love both bands...I want to see MCR so bad. Hey, who is PATD touring with now? I saw them with Gym Class Heroes, The Academy Is..., and The Hush Sound
okay so, u should be able to get in.... as long as the show is an all ages show... i would look it up again just to make sure!

hehe... LONG LIVE THE BLACK PARADE!

ew. panic at the disco...?
you can still go

they cant ask you for an i.d because 16 yr olds dont get i.d's yet
What do the tickets say?

If the tickets say it's a 16+ show, then thats what it is.

If the tickets say it's an all ages show, then that's what it is.

If in doubt call or Email the venue place and ask them.
if they give you trouble, just wear a lot of make up and tell them that you are 16
Me and my friend went to a 16+ concert and her sister was supposed to come but she ended up not. We just walked in behind some other people and acted as if we were together.

Why would Panic be 16+? It's not as if you're gonna be crushed in a mosh pit.

Who else thinks going to the movies nowadays is a ripoff?

I live in Texas, and going to see a movie at my local cinemark or amc is such a damn ripoff. Tickets are like 8.00 to go see a show after 6 pm. Personally, I think that no movie is worth paying 8 dolars to see. Lucky for me, if I just wait a month or so after it is released, I can go see it at the dollar theatre. And even better, there is a movie theatre not to far away that used to charge 2.50 to see a BRAND new movie, but I just went to go see a movie and they raised the price to 3.75. Man, i was pissed. Any thoughts?

You pay 10 bucks for a ticket (and double than that when you had a date)

Another couple bucks for pop corn and soft drinks

And what did you get? 20 minutes of commercial, seat kickers, noisy teenager, ringing cell phone, crying kids inside theatre (despite R rated movies)...

yeah. it's a ripoff.

IF ITS A REAL GOOD MOVIE I BEEN LOOKING FORWARD TO THAN I WILL GO SEE IT, I SAW HALLOWEEN YESTERDAY %26amp; IT WAS WORTH THE $$$, I SAW WAR LAST WEEK %26amp; IT WASN'T, %26amp; IN MIAMI ITS $9.00 FOR A TICKET %26amp; THEY CLOSED THE DOLLAR MOVIE THEARTER, WHAT I REALLY HATE ARE THE CONCESSIONS! $20 FOR SOME POPCORN %26amp; SODAS IS RIDICOULUS!!!!!!
I totally agree w/ you. I wish there was a dollar theater near where I live.
You have my sympathy.
I agree, that's why I rarely go see a movie in the theater any more. I prefer to rent them or buy them myself. As for concessions, I might buy popcorn, but the rest is bought in a store and placed in my wife's big purse. Works great for those rare occasions.

Am I being too sensitive with this?

A work colleague/friend of mine %26amp; I both decided to have an Xmas night out together (theatre), the 2 of us, after work (I've been temping at this company ad hoc for 3 years). I was ready to book the tickets the next day when the next morning, she came in to say she'd been invited with 'other the girls downstairs' (other secretaries) to a meal %26amp; that I was also invited too. Initially, I thought it unfair, as we'd agreed to go to the theatre, but afterwards I agreed to go along too, provided the lady who was organising it came to ask me herself, as I didn't want to hear of this meal second hand (and the lady did ask me). The problem is I have now finished this temporary booking (secretarial) before the Xmas meal arrangements had been finalised and am now working elsewhere and I've not heard a thing from anyone in that company about this meal out, even though they have my contact details and I myself have emailed to ask if I'm not too late to come along. What do you think?

I'd move on if I were you
Well, people get busy during the holidays and they may have dropped the ball. However, it sounds as if this may be a case that they just want to "keep it in the company", so to speak (especially if you are now working for a competitor). The clue was when this woman broke her plans with you in favor of dinner with "the girls." I'd be disappointed, certainly, but I wouldn't waste a lot of time worrying over it. Start making friends at your new job.
hahahaha lol!!!
People sometimes get busy and don't realize that they haven't given you the information. Just contact the person who invited you (either your friend or the person who is organizing the meal) and ask her for where and when you are meeting. (Personally, I wouldn't have insisted on a personal invitation like you did; if you're getting invited, what's the difference?) I'd say it's much better to swallow your pride a little bit and ask again than sit at home on Christmas because you didn't know the plans.

In the future, if you don't like it when plans change, you can say something like, "That's great that you're excited to go out to dinner with those girls. I was looking forward to going to the theater with you though." Then you can negotiate with your friend to do something that you can both enjoy. And, of course, you are free to decline any invitation to do something you don't want to do.
I think that three years is long enough to have developed a relationship with your co-workers there.

I would plan on having that meal with them unless the one who invited you said that you were no longer welcome.

You should contact the one who invited you for all the details.

Best Wishes and Merry Christmas

.
I think YOU have the contact details and should contact them, and either verify that you'd still like to attend, or to tell them that you will not be attending.

To answer your question, yes I think you are being way too sensitive and making too big of a deal out of little things that are actually no deal at all.
Yes, you are being too sensitive. If you want to go then phone someone to check if it's still on and then turn up. If not, phone and say "I have a dinner with my new company and can't really say no." No point in losing social contacts if you got on well your coworker.
I think they do not want you with them now that you are no longer part of their work environment. i temped for years. the regular staff is usually friendly, maybe do lunch, but once you leave, that's it.
Some people take friendship lightly and far from sight is out of mind:(, so best thing is to contact the person who invited you and find out if this is the case. If so, then move on and make new friends at your workplace, "c'est la vie".
My hubby worked in the same place for 15 years. As soon as he finished there, he was forgotten, more or less.Move on and make new friends at your current workplace. That's how work colleague friendships are.Easily made, easily broken.

FREE movie for two - would you BUY this?

If someone came to your front door, representing a local charatiy and a movie theatre who had teamed up together, selling a coupon book that cost $15, and the first coupon was for 2 free movie tickets, and there were 5 other good money saving coupons you dont normally see that you could use after that (like buy one movie ticket get one free), would you buy it?

Also, 10% of the sale ($1.50) would go to the local charity - meaning if 1,000 coupons were sold you would be apart of an action group that had raised $1,500 for that charity, uniting the community, consumer, business, and charity together - all supporting each other.

no, it always seems like you're going to get screwed over somewhere with these things.

Mabel sighed. Robert has been her only crush since second grade and during the summer, she promised herself that this year, in seventh grade, she would make him hers. She just wondered why he never hung out with her or even said a word to her. Is it because she wasn’t pretty enough? Or was it because he didn’t like girls who stuck their noses in books and paid attention in class like Mabel. As a straight-A student, she only cared about education. If she got a C or lower, her mom would start a long conversation about “if you don’t have the grades, Mabel, you may never get into Harvard. You need to take education seriously. Now go study and promise me a better test next time.” Mabel would nod her head and run off to her room. Mabel knew it was because of that.

Noah, Mabel’s best friend since kindergarten, was cool and never shy. In be fact, Mabel would be totally jealous of her because on top of being a straight-B student, she was cute, friendly, funny, and had adorable style. Hmm…what if Robert likes Noah? Mable wondered to herself. She was stunned. “Noah, do you think that I’m…you know, geeky?” Noah looked down at the floor. “Um…well, you’re not that geeky, you’re just…” Mabel interrupted, “Nerdy?” Noah nearly yelled out “Yes!” Mabel stared her. She was right. The two headed to the girls bathroom.

“Are you sad?” asked Noah as she applied mascara and pink eye shadow. Mabel finished tying her shoes and let out a calm “No.” Noah smiled and said, “Perfect! My make up is so perfect. No smudges, no colors getting mixed up!” Mabel giggled, “Your pink eye shadow doesn’t match your dark red lips”. Noah grinned and started to sing “Ain’t no other man”. “You look and sing just like a miniature Christina Aguilera!” Mabel said while putting on nail polish. There was no one else in the bathroom and they felt relaxed. Rrrrring! “Oh my gosh! We’re gonna be late!” Noah struggled to pack up her cosmetics in her purple pouch. “Wait!”, screamed Noah, “my lips got smudged!” Mabel sighed. Why was it that Mabel only needed nail polish to feel beautiful while Noah needed the whole enchilada? Noah finally found a light shade of lavender and wiped it all over her lips. She put on a coat of her signature vanilla Lip Smacker. They rushed out of the bathroom and into the classroom. The teacher stared at them. He was a bald man with round, black glasses and he had on a button-down shirt, a tie with prancing elves, and tuxedo pants. “You girls got lucky. Class starts in one more minute but everyone else came early. Guess they’re all excited about stepping up and becoming seventh graders.” They took the seats in the front next to each other. A couple seconds later, the teacher announced “Five, four, three…”

Amber, Raquel, Ashley, and Anna rushed in right when he was going to say “two”. Mabel and Noah looked at each other and mouthed the words “popular girls”. This group is even worse than all the bullies. These girls were so preppy and girly and Amber was the head of them. It was her who said what do and what not to do and everyone else in her crew did exactly what she said and she treated them like servants. They even wore matching clothes and today, it was plaid Bermuda shorts, sparkly tank tops, and ballet flats. The group took the seats right next to Robert. Amber worked up her charm and flirted with Robert. Mabel grunted and played around with the key chain in the pocket of her hoodie. “No more being a nerd,” she whispered to herself. Apparently, Noah heard and winked. She then whispered, “Good idea, Mabel!” The teacher cleared his voice and in a soft therapist voice said, “Hello students. My name is Mr. Smith and I’m going to be your history teacher.” Everyone stared at him as if he was speaking another language. As always, Mabel knew that Mr. Smith would be a great teacher.

Mr. Smith pulled out a box of textbooks and passed them out. “Everyone, please to turn to page 6. Please silently read this section on ancient Egypt.” Everyone got right to work and started reading while Mr. Smith sat down at his desk. He jotted down things on a notebook.

Half an hour later, when everyone was finished reading, he passed out slips of paper to everyone. “Please put your slip into the hat on my desk”, he pointed to his desk “we will be starting our ancient Egypt projects and now we are picking partners.” Mabel’s heart started pounding. The only way that Robert could notice me is if I worked with him on a project, she thought. “The first pair is Rachel and Chris.” Mable was shocked. Who knew Rachel, the sophisticated wannabe-lawyer would wound up with the kid who did arm farts in front of the teacher? “The next pair is Noah and Robert.” Mabel almost cried. How could this be? But then she calmed down. What if she used Noah to ask Robert some questions about what kind of girl he was into? Hmmm…maybe Noah was more useful than giving bad makeovers. Mr. Smith glanced up at the clock. “Whoops! Time is running out! I better assign partners and fast!”, he said in a cartoon voice. “Harold and Mabel. Thomas and Amber. Tiffany and Raquel. Anna and Mohammed. Ashley and David.” Mabel felt like dying. How could she possibly be stuck with Harold, the boy who picks his nose and eats a plain sandwich with a massive dallop of mayonnaise and a pickle or two to top it off. Mabel never forgot the time when he shoved one of his icky sandwiches up her throat. She barfed and had to go home early.

After history class, Mabel went to the bathroom while Noah went to ask Mr. Smith some questions about the project. Mabel was upset that Noah got to be Robert’s partner. Noah barged into the girl’s bathroom. “Why didn’t you wait for me?” groaned Noah. Mabel just applied some lip-gloss and looked the other way. Noah frowned. Mabel then smacked her lips and blew her nails. “Mabel, you can’t give me the silent treatment forever. Now, tell me why you’re so mad.” Mabel cleared her throat, “Why do you get to be Robert’s partner and I don’t?” Noah looked at Mabel as if she was stupid. “Mabel, the whole partner-picking thing was random, so I didn’t get to choose.” Mabel rolled her yes, “So what? I’m still mad.” Noah started to get angry and shouted, “Its not my fault!” Mabel stared at her. Mabel had never seen Noah erupt before. She must have really pressed Noah’s buttons, but she didn’t care, or at least pretended not to care. Mabel finally got the message: Noah might actually like Robert. “Wait a minute,” said Mabel “you like Robert.” Noah was silent. “Do you like Robert?” Mabel demanded. Noah nodded her head. Mabel started crying. Noah approached Mabel and hugged her. Noah whispered, “Are we still friends?” Mabel wiped her tears and said, “I don’t know.” Mabel left the bathroom, slamming the door, and went off to English class. Luckily, Mabel didn’t have English class with Noah so she would have to deal with Noah passing notes asking, “Are we still friends?” Mabel knew this because this happened last year.

English class was pretty quiet without Noah yelling out answers and whispering jokes about Mrs. Renoldi. Mrs. Renoldi was an old-fashioned lady who probably still believed it was the 1900’s. In a turtleneck sweater, shiny silver pants, loafers, poofy hair, a red and green headband, and novelty earrings, she was the nerdiest teacher in the whole school. After English class, Mabel went over to get her science book from her locker to study at lunch. Noah had slipped a note into Mabel’s locker:

Dear Mabel,

I’m really sorry. Please forgive me. I mean, it’s not my fault that I have a crush on Robert. Besides, its not like I’m going to flirt with him or something.

-Noah

Mabel carefully studied the note. Wow…Noah even used the blue gel pen I gave her last year , thought Mabel. She did feel bad about being mad at Noah for no reason. She wanted to forgive her, but she wasn’t sure yet. She pulled out her science book and her wrinkled up paper bag and headed over to the cafeteria. Lunch just wasn’t the same without Noah. Mabel had a peanut butter sandwich, homemade brownies, orange juice, and an apple. She glumly ate lunch. She wondered where Noah was sitting. She glanced through the whole cafeteria until finally she spotted Noah. Mabel gasped and choked on a chunk of the apple. There was Noah sitting with Amber, Ashley, Raquel, and Anna laughing it up right in front of Mabel. Mabel felt gullible to even want to forgive Noah. Noah was trying to make Mabel jealous and it worked. Mabel thought of a plan to embarrass Noah for life.

The next day, Mabel completely ignored Noah and Noah ignored her back. Mabel was lonely while Noah flaunted herself with the “popular girls”. During history class, Mabel watched as Noah smiled and blushed right in front of Robert. That’s when Mabel realized that he really did like Noah. “Want to eat lunch with me?” he said to Noah. The whole class gasped. The star of the football team and the preppy, happy girl…eating lunch…together?

Mabel watched as Noah and Robert giggled at lunch. They seemed as though they’ve known each other forever. Mabel couldn’t stand it. She walked over to where Noah was sitting and dumped milk all over her head. Noah screamed. Noah went running like a dog with a tail on fire. And Robert frowned. “What the heck, you geek?!” he shouted. Mabel stared at him, feeling the tears slipping out of her eyes. A geek? Great, now I know he thinks I’m a geek, she thought. Mabel took her wrinkled up paper bag with an apple core and half of the sandwich and walked out of the cafeteria. She went to her locker and stared at herself in the mirror of her locker. She checked herself. What was so geeky about her?

Moments later, she realized what was nerdy. Square black glasses that were so big that they took up half of her face. A piggy nose. Red and blue braces. A button down cotton shirt. Plaid trousers. Socks up to the knee. Maybe if she stretched them, they’d cover her whole leg. And red low top Converse. She felt the word in her mind. That word. Geek. Its time to stop being a geek once and for all, she thought.

Chapter 2

Mabel looked at herself in the mirror in the morning and smiled. “No more being a geek!” she screamed in delight. As she walked through the hallway at school, she finally knew that being a geek was over for her. “Ooh hot!” screeched the boys. And that one sound that made it feel worth it. Gasp. Gasp.

Mabel was wearing a red tube top with the word “baby” written in fold foil. She wore an incredibly mini mini-skirt. She had strappy red sandals and she dyed her hair cherry chocolate with red and black streaks. She wore a chain necklace, earrings, and a tattoo.

She went to class. History class, she sighed. Mr. Smith looked at her. The teacher’s pet has gone wrong. “Um, Mabel, would you like to read page 12, paragraph 2?” Mabel stared at him. Look, I’m not a kiss-up teacher’s pet girl anymore. I’m a hot, bad girl, she thought. “No.” she said in a snobby tone. She knew how to do this voice perfectly because the popular crew practically created that voice. Mr. Smith looked at her. “Please read the paragraph, Mabel.” Mabel then said, in a snobbier tone, “No.” Mr. Smith turned red. “READ THE PARAGRAPH!” he screamed. “No.” Mabel said like she was tring to be annoying. Mr. Smith then said, “Mabel read the paragraph or else.” Mabel stood up and walked toward him, “Are you threatening me?” she screamed. “Get your backpack and head to the principal’s office. You’re in big trouble, ma’am!” The class roared with “Ooooh!” and “Uh oh!” And what Mabel was waiting for. Gasp. Gasp.

“So, why didn’t you read the paragraph?” asked the principal. Mrs. Harper was sitting at her desk in a light blue business suit, high heels to match, and a messy bun. Mabel stared at her wrinkles. Um…there’s something called Botox, thought Mabel. “I’m waiting to know.” The principal added. The office was so depressing. The desk Mrs. Harper was sitting at was flowing with tattered papers. Pens and pencils were all over the floor. Mabel was sitting on a little pink stool. There was a countertop with coffee mugs and file folders. The carpet looked as though there was a wild party in there. Gum on the floor. “Mabel, are you going to talk or not,” asked the principal. Mabel sighed. “I just didn’t feel like reading.” Mabel put on her puppy dog hoodie. If Mrs. Harper saw Mabel with a tube top, the trouble she was already was in would be doubled. “Tube tops aren’t allowed”, Mrs. Harper would say over and over again. Mrs. Harper rose her eyebrows, “So, why didn’t you feel like reading.” Mabel decided to lie. It was the only way to get out of all this trouble. “Well, I didn’t feel like reading because I was in a bad mood. I felt like crying.” Mrs. Harper suddenly switched from principal mode to therapist mode. “Oh, dear! What happened, Mabel?” Mabel replied as glumly as she can, “Well, I like Robert and now Robert likes Noah and I want him to like me.” Mabel then stated crying for real. By trying to lie, she ended up telling the truth. Mrs. Harper nodded her head, “It’ll be okay, dear. Boys are mysterious people, really they are. Don’t cry please.” Mabel cried and cried. Mrs. Harper reached into the desk drawer and pulled out a mango-flavored lollypop. Mabel took it even though strawberry-flavored lollypops were her favorite. She wiped her tears and left the office.

She went to bathroom to wash her face. Noah walked into the bathroom too. “So, what happened in the office?” asked Noah. Mabel replied, “Nothing. I didn’t get in trouble.” Noah smiled. “That’s good,” Noah giggled. “The whole class was talking about it while we were supposed to be working on our Egypt projects. Everyone thought you got suspended or something.” Noah added. Mabel sighed. She really did miss Noah. Mabel asked, “So, how is it going with Robert?’ Noah shook her head. “All he ever talks about is Amber. I found out he’s using me to get to Amber. So I dumped him during history class.” Mabel felt so bad. “How could we have let one boy ruin our friendship?” Mabel asked sadly. “I missed you so much. There was no one to dip Oreos into chocolate milk with while watching cartoons, no one to play soccer with, no one to watch movies with, no one to bake cookies with, no one to play “hair salon” with. No one to do anything with. Please, please, please, please be my best friend again.” Noah cried. Noah was sobbing. Mabel yelled happily, “Of course I’ll be your friend again!” They hugged and cried.

“Everyone was talking about your geek to chic makeover today,” Noah said. Mabel smiled, “My days as Geek Girl are over!” Noah then added, “The football team was even talking about how hot you looked. And Robert!” Mabel leaped with excitement. She ran over to Robert. “Hey, Robert!” she said in that total flirt tone. Robert looked at her. “You look really hot.!” Mabel giggled. “Wanna go out to the movies this Friday night?” she asked. Robery smiled, “Yeah, sure.”

Friday came and Mabel was throwing clothes out of her closet. Her room was a little small. Her bed, with her pink and lime green bedding, was in the middle, magazines with cut out pictures of celebrities were all over the carpet, and one pink dresser and a desk with a laptop. Her closet was small, which is why most of her clothes were all over the floor. Where is that pink tube top? she wondered. She found her tube top under her bed and pulled it on. She grabbed her high heels and skinny jeans. She put glittery pink eye shadow and sparkly pink lipstick. She headed over to the theatre and walked up to Robert, who waiting inside near the snack area.

“Want popcorn?” asked Robert. Mabel blushed as pink as her lipstick and said, “Yes, please” in her most innocent little girl voice. She has used this voice to get herself out of trouble with her mom. He paid for popcorn and purchased a drink and escorted Mabel to a seat way in the back. Robert sat down and put the popcorn in Mabel’s lap. Mabel smiled weakly. This was her first date ever and she felt so awkward. The movie started and Robert smiled at her. She wasn’t interested in watching ‘Superman strikes again’, but she pretended to be completely interested in it. She sighed and daydreamed about getting married to Robert. She smiled and dozed off. Before she knew it, the dream became beautiful the more she imagined.

“Mabel”, Robert said while shaking her. He cleared his throat, “Wake up, Mabel!” Mabel woke up, still sleepy. “What happened?” she asked, feeling drowsy. Robert frowned. “You missed the whole movie because you fell asleep”, he replied. Mabel widened her eyes. What a jerk I am. The one and only hottie who I loved for so long finally went on a date with me and I fell asleep. Poor guy paid for tickets and snacks and I wasted it all and fell asleep. Fell asleep, she thought. “I’m sorry.” Mabel said. Robert got up and said, “Come on, lets go.” Mabel sighed. The one and only boy she really loved is going to dump her after one date. Just one date! No, she was not going to let him dump her.

They went outside and sat at the bench. Robert was waiting for a taxi to pick them up. Mabel grabbed his arm, “Are you still mad at me?! All I did was fall asleep during the movie! You can’t blame me for being a bit tired. You’re not the one who has to study, play the violin, play the piano, go to soccer practices every day, and still have time to do homework! And then I still have chores and you in my life! So, why are you mad if you can’t understand what I go through every freaking day of my life!” Mabel had yelled this out so loud that everyone waiting for the bus and exiting and entering the theatre could hear. She sounded like a crazy woman who wanted to break up with her husband. Robert stood there, embarrassed as everyone stared at Mabel and Robert. Robert just glared at her and looked down. “I wasn’t mad at you, just a little annoyed. That’s all. But you had to embarrass me in front of all these people.” Mabel shrugged. “I’m really, really sorry, Robert. Please forgive me.” Mable said. Robert hugged her and replied, “Just don’t let it happen again.” They let go and Mabel quietly sad, “Ok.”

Noah called Mabel two hours after she got back from the date with Robert. Noah seemed pretty excited. “So, how did the date go with Robert?” Mabel sighed, “I fell asleep during the movie and he seemed pretty upset and I yelled at him in public like a mad woman with no therapist who wanted to divorce her husband and live alone in a mountaintop in Oregon or something.” Noah giggled, “Don’t tell me you brought up the fact that you practice piano and stuff. And why Oregon? I heard that Wisconsin has pretty nice mountaintops perfect for mad women with no therapist who want to divorce their husband.” Mabel laughed, “This is probably the last time me and Robert will ever go out on a date.”

Is this a good book?pacific theater

i ? this story!!!! my only bad comments would be that in the beginning it kinda repeated a little, %26amp; some of the words were misspelled, but change that %26amp; its a super great story!!!!!!! i read it kinda quickly just so that i could comment on how good it was!!! plz finish it or email me the rest finalized if u can!!!! :D

Is this a good book?phantom of the opera opera theaterI love it. Needs some good old Turtle Wax, but would make a wonderful read. Please send me a copy (autographed!) too, please! Report It

It was okay, but the diction was a little bit boring. Some words were used excessively, and the explanations of things dragged just a little. Would this be for an adolescent book because that is what I think it would fit really well into? Otherwise, good job. The characters are a little one sided, your don't get to see much into them except what is explained about them....

Good luck with the writing!! sounds good to me so far!

What is the deal with the movie ratings system?

I am 16 years old and my friend is 17 years old. We recently went to see American Gangster, an R-rated film. My friend purchased both the tickets, in accordance to the law, yet about 15 minutes into the movie, the manager asked to see my ID. After informing the manager I was with my friend who was of the age to view an R-rated film, who purchased my ticket, I was asked to leave the film. I simply informed the manager that I abided by the only age-restriction that was on the front window? Morally and legally, do I have any case in not being only upset, but embarrassed in my own town's movie theatre?

What is the deal with the movie ratings system?the grand theater

It sucks but no you have no case. The person you are with has to be a guardian type.

That's the way it stands now. I am not aware that the system has been tested in the courts. If you want you can try legal redress but it will cost you.

What is the deal with the movie ratings system?soap opera opera theater

You don't have a case. It sucks that you were embarrassed in the theatre, but you weren't there with a guardian or parent. Thus, you were violating the rules/laws about it. And most signs in front of theatres say that you "Must be accompanied by a parent or guardian...", not "You can see the movie if your obviously 17 year-old friend, who could not possibly be your parent or guardian, bought you a ticket."

It's irksome, yes, but that's how it is. You only have one more year to wait, though.
WTF is with ALL the movies being rated R?! Like seriously. All of the movies that look really good are R-rated. It's f*ing gay man.
"restricted unless parent or guardian"

your friend is neither. sorry.
I am sixteen as well and I would be pissed. That's so gay man, you do have a right to be upset.

Phantom of the Opera, London - Seating opinions wanted?

At the risk of sounding REALLY ungrateful, my dad booked tickets for me and a friend to see Phantom for my 20th birthday, at Her Majesty's Theatre in London - Royal Circle, row G, seats 9-10. I'm thrilled to be seeing Phantom again, but I'm a bit worried that because we'll be sitting at the back of the Royal Circle, our view won't be very good, especially during the scene where the Phantom is hiding behind the angel statue at the top of the stage. Has anybody else sat in this row?

Phantom of the Opera, London - Seating opinions wanted?star theater

Believe me, I sat in the way back and honestly it is so much better.

The chandelier was able to rise and I could see all of it. Also you can definitely see the Phantom behind the angel statue.

I prefer the back, you get to see more. Enjoy your show!

Why are all aspiring "actresses" obsessed with being on Disney Channel nowadays?

I am a theatre actress, not a screen actress, but from what I've noticed, the only reason half the people want to be involved with acting only want to be on Disney. Whatever happened to loving Broadway?

Also, why does every girl and her sister think she's a fabulous actress and singer? Half the people who think this have had no training. I haven't taken lessons, but I do think that eight years of professional choir singing(the kind with $30+ tickets at times) qualifies.

I'm not trying to kill dreams here, but why is this?? It doesn't make sense that Disney would ever cast half the people ON their channel. I mean... Hillary Duff? Come on. What about getting some real actors and actresses... like Raven, and Kristen Storms??

Best Answer to someone who can convince me that these people deserve to be on these shows.

Why are all aspiring "actresses" obsessed with being on Disney Channel nowadays?opera songs

wow.... um.... hostile much???

Seriously, I'm not a Broadway actress, nor will i ever be a Broadway actress..... But i have a certain respect for it, and i think you should have respect for screen actresses too....

Now I'm not saying that Miley Cyrus is good because she's not. Hilary Duff is pretty good, she's not the greatest but she's good... It honestly takes a lot of courage to make a movie for the WHOLE WORLD to see and i really don't think you're getting that here.

As for Disney.... yeah i understand why people want to be on Disney, because its a kid oriented show... so many things out there nowadays pertain to the sexual nature, drugs and violence.... it's nice to have a program that appeals to the younger generation.

However.... I do absolutely 100% agree with you about every one wanting to be an actor or an actress, and wanting to be "famous".... It irritates me because now there are so many real actors who want to just do what they love and they're being beaten by the "fame suckers".

But that's just me... I've answered your questions with my opinions, and whether you like them or not... they are better than these half answers the girls above put.

Why are all aspiring "actresses" obsessed with being on Disney Channel nowadays?secure browser opera theater

i would rather be a Broadway actress than a Disney actress any day.
Maybe they want to be on Disney because the producers have a tendency to sleep with their young stars? Hello casting couch...

And you're right, nobody pays enough attention to the basics that a good theatre background can give an actor. They want the quick bucks, where you don't have to be particularly good to get rich quick - in fact, being really good seems almost to be discouraged.

But one thing they all overlook is the staying power of the truly talented actors - all of whom got their start in the theatre.
because most actors on disney grow up and become big stars.
I personally HATE no.. LOATHE Miley Cyrus and High school Musical and all those things on disney channel. They wanna sing like dying whales like Miley does. They don't deserve it. They tink you can just magcally appear to be a good enough actor and you don't have to work for it. You do. People like that are my pet peeves.
I agree with you 100%, I'm trying to break into broadway. But I'm only 14 so I still have awhile.
i understan i luv broadway too it rocks my fav play iz wicked
I agree. Most people that become successful working for disney are popular with the 10-13 year old crowd for a couple years and start a singing career that ends up a waste of time and money. I would much rather be on broadway because it takes much more talent than disney and its more fun in my opinion.
I agree. Broadway is the way to go! That, or actual good on screen films. But I think most people want to be on Disney because they think that it will bring them glamor and fame, and they will be just like Miley Cyrus. They think Disney is an easy way to get into Hollywood. And that because all the kids think they think they are amazing actors and singers, that Disney will too and automatically higher them. (Yeah, right!). Then, they think that it will all be fun and games being famous.

Should i ditch her?

I went to see a musical with this girl, Megan from class and a couple days later i texted her asking her if she wanted to go to the movies (she mentioned a movie theater she really liked) but she kept completely ignoring my texts. She bailed on me the first time we were supposed to go to the musical because she was "too" sick to go and so i sold the tickets and lost 40 dollars in the process. Today my friend Diana asked me if i can give her a ride tomorrow because we are going to a theatre play for class and so i said ok, because she is a good friend, and Diana asked me if i can take Megan too because she needs a ride as well, and so i said sure. Then later in front of me Megan hugged my friend for finding a ride but she didnt even hug or thank me and im the one that is taking her. I feel like texting her saying that there isn't enough room in my car and that i can't take her.

Should i ditch her?opera cd

What does your heart think?

Should i ditch her?opera singer opera theater

dAmn!what was that all about!?i think she's just using u...or something...idk!
dont do that but they is kinda wierd...if you text her them you just seem like an *** but that is kinda mean..i am sorry!
Ditch Megan.

She doesn't deserve your time.
Megan is not into you. Go after Diana.
Well that would be mean but on the other hand she deserves it
good idea shes just a bit(h
Don't ditch her cause it will open up a huge can of worms. Cause Diana is involved and whatnot.

But never give her the time of day again and never associate with her after this.
Awww that sucks!! I don't think you should make an excuse now coz the other friend will know there is a lot of space unless you fill up your car with other people. Otherwise just take her too but ignore her and don't show interest. Maybe she thinks you're hitting on her or something. Just ignore her and I'm sure she'll say thanks.
It really isn't worth it to be like that. She's a *****, that's a fact, but give her the ride and ignore her. If you don't you'll look like you're the *** and she's the poor innocent one. Make it uncomfortable for her =]
lol. im sure as satisfying as it would seem to you. It would just look immature to her, well it would if i was her. Just play it cool give her the ride and forget about her. If you're not worth her time she's not worth your time. Simple
Ditch them both. Sounds like you are a taxi service. Just forget to pick them up. What the heck, they aren't talking to you anyway
Ditchhh herr.. shady b!.tch can walk her as$ home. OR tak her and tell her shes gotta pay ten bucks for gas.
If Megan was your girlfriend, I'm sure you liked her once before. Would you honestly let go of Megan because of such banal reasons? If you feel strongly about it, tell her about how much you would appreciate it if her showed more respect and kindness to you. Maybe Megan will realize how much things really mean to you.
ditch her...she sounds selfish
Don't go back on your word. You don't want to be that guy. Instead, don't pay any attention to her in the car tomorrow. Talk to Diana a lot and ask her about her day. Don't completely ignore Megan because it will seem like you're doing it on purpose, but just don't give her too much of the time of day. Act like you genuinely don't care.

Actually, you should genuinely not care. Don't let girls act stupid to you. End of story.
That would just be going down to her level. If you have the guts, I would say you would not be out of line to text her and say, "Glad I could help Diana out by including you. You're both very welcome. It would be cool if you could chip in a few bucks for gas; can't believe the prices at the pumps!" Anyway, something along those lines, in your own words. Turn the dynamic around, make the point that you are doing her a favor without being crappy about it and definitely ask for gas $. You don't have to indicate in any way that Diana is contributing but you would be making a def point that you don't consider her presence as anything more than a favor to a friend and help with cost. She sounds a little full of herself, if you ask me.
i think you should talk to your friend about it cuz that other girl is a pain in your ***. but be polite as to not break your friendship with your friend diana. .......put stuff in your car and say sorry i have no room walk ***** lol no jk but you should talk to your friend about it and see what she thinks!!
hey dude i think that megan don't like you like that and diana only ask you for a ride maybe becoz you were their easy access. so my advise to you is look for new friends and someone better to like.. gud luck
basing on your question, i guess you liked megan but she does not reciprocate your feelings. and would it be safe to assume that she has been ignoring your texts cause you might have been incessantly texting her? what's done is done. you lost 40 smackers. learn from that experience. and next time, dont pursue a girl who is not interested in you to avoid frustrations. but you have to accept the fact that when you are starting to date, you dont expect the girl you fancy to fancy you back. and if you dont take the risk, you'll end up alone. as for the car ride, dont ditch her. be the gentleman and just say nothing. if she still doesnt say thanks, that is an indication of the type of person she is. the type you wouldnt want to be friends with in the 1st place

Which Broadway musical do you recommend me to see?

I already have tickets to The Phantom Of The Opera and Wicked. I know a lot about musical theatre, but there are so many good musicals on Broadway that I just can't decide. I'm going to one or two more musicals and the options are: Spring Awakening (it seems awesome!!! I've heard the soundtrack and I love it, plus the plot is very good), The Lion King, Jersey Boys (note that I'm not familiar with The Four Seasons), Hairspray (I've seen the movie and I love it), Mamma Mia! (I love ABBA). I like all of them but I want to know which one is the best one, because I don't know when I'm going to see a broadway musical again.

Which Broadway musical do you recommend me to see?theatre tickets

You are going to love Phantom and Wicked. Wicked is an amazing show that is worth every penny of your ticket price. Trust me, I've seen it five times.

As for the others, I would definitely go with Mamma Mia! and the Lion King for sure. I have yet to meet one person who did not like the Lion King, and I hear it won't be lasting much longer. I regret that I was unable to see it when it was in Minneapolis.

I have heard good things about Spring Awakening, but don't know enough to make a serious call to recommend it.

My vote goes to Mamma Mia and The Lion King, the Lion King for sure. If you love Abba, Mamma Mia will be great fun for you, so I think that would probably be the best route.

Honestly, you can't go wrong either way though. Phantom, Wicked, Lion King, Mamma Mia? That sounds like a trip to remember.

Have fun!

Congrats on being able to get a ticket to Wicked! You are going to love it! I love Phantom is also great!

Out of the shows you've listed, I'd have to say see The Lion King! Its truly an experience!

Good Luck and Have Fun!
I never saw Wicked... but I hear its amazing. I'm dying to see it myself. My 8 year old daughter wants to see it too.

I recommend Avenue Q... its witty and funny ...and really catchy songs. I loved it. If you aren't easily offended by some vulgar content, you'll get a huge kick out of it.
My close friend saw Mamma Mia! and said it was really good. Have fun!

'R' movies?!?

Do you just need a parent with an ID to buy the tickets for you, or does a parent with an ID have to come into the theatre with you?

'R' movies?!?

R means anyone Under 17 requires accompanying parent or adult guardian

'R' movies?!?opera mobile opera theater

Technically the parent is supposed to be entering the theatre with you. I have seen people kicked out before when the parent leaves even after buying their own ticket. It's kinda crazy and stupid I think.
"Rated R, Under 17 Not Admitted Without Parent"

Your parent has to go with you. But it's not like breaking into the Fort Knox. Most theaters won't card you and even if they do, once your parents buy your tickets the employees won't put a lo-jack on you to verify that your parents are with you.

Why do guys whistle at girls & say disgusting things?

I was walking to the movie theatre with my mom %26amp; there was lots of people outside of it just loitering around. Also a lot of people in line for tickets. So I walked by the first time %26amp; I heard some guys whistling %26amp; I didn't know if they were whistling at me or what. So we walked by again since the movie wasn't playing %26amp; they started whistling %26amp; yeliing, "Damnnn girl! Sexy! You got a fine a**!" I tryed to ignore it. Then they said something about my mom %26amp; that was the last straw. I screamed back, "shut up!" twice. Then they got really rude but we then left. Why do they do that? I'm only 15 %26amp; I wasn't dressed like a slut or anything. I just got back from dance class %26amp; I had some gym pants on %26amp; a kind of fitted shirt %26amp; I was wearing glasses. That really pissed me off.

Why do guys whistle at girls %26amp; say disgusting things?opera music

Yes it is quite disturbing. I think it happens because some guys are just total jerks. They probably did not have a father figure in their life...let me re-state a respectful gentlemanly father figure in life. Age has nothing to do with it, a lady can be 13 or 67 and it will still happen. Best!

Why do guys whistle at girls %26amp; say disgusting things?opera sheet music opera theater

To let ya know your hot!
now im not gonna be bias bout my answer ok.... my view is guys really arnt like that we rnt all pigs and pervs we get like that when we r with other guys like its just something we do to fit in with the guys
because ther pigs ! yeahh baby
ignore them
I am a fifty year old man, and admit in my youth I have been guilty of such things. There are several reasons. One is to impress their friends or the object of their attention. Another is insecurity, fear of rejection. By not approaching in a reasonable and acceptable way and risking rejection, there is no close contact and a positive response makes them look cool. A rejection or being ignored allows the option to claim the woman is frigid or otherwise incomplete. Some are just a disgrace to their alleged manhood and have no respect for women. I now, and for many years try to live by the following tenet- 'A lady is a woman who causes a man to act like a gentleman'. I prefer ladies to be my friend. If we can find a common ground that may facilitate romance, then that romance is all the better for it.

Don't forget, there are some females who enjoy and encourage this behaviour.
because we just do. and we like to get your attention so we can check the lady out. im going to shut up now. one of these days u will figure out why we whistle at females.
most guys are perverted and rude! dont ever get with a guy like that. they think that they are the **** and they can have who ever or whatever they want. i hate that when it happens. just ignore it, its like the only thing to do.
I totally understand you. Some guys are such pigs that have no respect for women. Don't pay them any attention it's not worth it, hun. Keep you head up and be strong. More women need to be feminists and strong. Don't ever let a man get to you. You were just there to enjoy a movie with your mom, not to impress anyone!
Guys will be guys. Around their friends they feel that if they act a certain way towards girls they will come off as "Cooler" to their guys. Once i was walking outside some guys screamed out of a bus that i just got a boob job! . Just don't listen to them, they will see how wrong they are about talking to you that way
have you heard of low class people
not all guys do that but you are 15 so i assume guys your age were whistling at you, at puberty guys are always really horny. Some people are really bad at talking to girls and they think that you would take it as a compliment, just calmly look uninterested and they will stop, if you say shut up they will get mad.
they think you are hawt..i mean....what do you expect....they are boys.
because most guys dont care about girls and they are just really immature.
well that's the way boyz r we can't doing anything about.
dont let them bother you.. they are people with nothing to do
they probably thought you was hot and wanted to get your attention...maybe just showing off and having a laugh with there friends and you ended up in the middle of it all ...don't worry about it
Ignore BOYS like that!!!! Some men/boys unfortunately have no game what so ever and have to resort to getting a girl's attention by yelling and whistling!!! But if you respond to it, they win!!!!

By ignoring them you let them know that is not the way to behave around a lady!!!
Because from time to time a girl will respond favorably to this behavior. Intermittent reinforcement increases behavior .....look it up.
I know it is tough NOT to respond to ignorant people...BUT, you just gotta do that. They 'want' a response from you. Be a better person (which I am sure you are) and walk on by and 'pretend' they are NOT there!!
I've always wondered the same thing
Because we're pigs! We also do it impress our friends with the "shock factor" thing. I would just ignore it next time. We need to be treated like little kids so just pretend that we're not there.
there jerks, thats why, not all guys r like that
well im a guy, but i dont do those things.

they do it cuz they think it makes them cool. and they want to show there friends that they can.

also they prob think u like that sort of stuff and think u will do u no wat just cuz they said those things to u.

they are rude.

they dont no how to treat girls.
dude you have to live with it, dirt guys use that to attract dirt girls.
thats what dumb assholes do when they want to get the attention of the girls, I think. anyway they are just losers that doesnt have anything else to do than wasting time. you just ignore them thats all!!!!!!!!! or if they dont leave you alone call an authority, and they will take care of them.
Guys mature way later

some never do

its life
Guys are...guys!

They were born to like girls, therefore they ARE a little perverted XD

Also, guys in groups are stupid cuz they sometimes feel like the need to show off...

What should I do??

I like this guy I work with.

Hes really nice.we work at a movie theatre

And he trained me in concession(bc my staff lead that night was a dooshbag)He was really nice to me. But I saw him helping another girl and he was real upfront with her when she couldnt get something right.

I didnt get like 8 things and he explained to me how I could remember.

She didnt get like 2 and he looked aggrivated.

Everytime he sees me he says Hey and smiles. When theres not many ppl there we'll have a full on conversation.

Id try to flirt but Idk if he knows.

When I took my mom and my bestfriend to see a movie he was selling the tickets and usually hed b like ok tell me how it goes.(to other employees)

Not with me. When I went to talk off he started telling me about this other movie. And we started talking about it and other stuff.

I want to ask him to come see a movie with me.

Is that bad? Should I?! I wanna know if I should ask him..

U know just coworkers. How will I know if he likes me?

What should I do??phantom of the opera

KENDRA!!!

Ask HIM!

he will go

and then give him Ur number he will call

and if he didn't like he wouldn't b ignoring his costumers to watch U walk into the theater

What should I do??listen to opera opera theater

just be like "hey wanna catch a movie if your not busy" and see how it goes from there
Just ask him slowly
kiss him
Play hard to get, drive him crazy for a little bit. Then just casually ask him to go to a movie with you likes its not a big deal and see what happens in the dark.
Ask him
I think he likes you! GO with your gut!! Listen to your insides!! If you want to take him out do it! I wish I would've done something sooner now and at the time I kinda thought this girl liked me but I wasn't sure. Well come to find out she liked me since August but now it's too late because she has a boyfriend! O this isn't the first time I messed up because I didn't go with my gut and acknowledged the signs! Come on he was SUPER nice to you and mean to other girl, he has conversations with you when noone's there to help, he tells you about other good movies, basically he does things he doesn't normal do with other co-workers! Don't be obvilious ask him to a movie and go with the flow!
just ask him
I think you should ask him so you guys can get to know each other but only as coworkers and that way you'll find out if he has feelings for you.So just try it wuld be kool 2 get 2 know your coworker, especially at the movies so get it girl!!!!!
yeah... its ok... nothing's wrong with that. go out with him as friends first.
Of course not! You only live once and this is your one time to do it.
if you work with him sometime just be like "hey wanna see a movie after work?" and if he reacts badly then just ask someone else soon after to play it off like he wasnt special.
Ask away little darlin...it is the only way you'll get answers to your questions.

You have nothing to lose
if you are really interested in him and don't feel embarassed about approaching him in that way then go for it, I personally would not have the nerve but would love to have the nerve to to that.
ask him, I'm sure he'll say yes
When you like someone you often pick up all types of signals that help convince you it's mutual. You seem very unsure. Don't do any thing drastic. Try to get to know him better then just a coworker- just be doing things that friends may do. Don't jump into anything but let things flow naturally.

Exactly what's going on in her head? Come in and solve this mystery for me, please.?

Here's the basic plot:

I like this girl a lot and we spend quite some time together. She sure knows I like her but may not be so certain about it although I think everything I ever did for or to her had got "I like you" written all over them. In the look of her eyes, touch of her hand and the way she handles herself in my presence suggest that she does have some feelings for me. All my gestures were responded to positively. Along came Valentine's day I asked her out to a theatre. Not wanting to pressure her, I left out the fact that I've already got the tickets. I even refrained from using the word "Valentine's". I only asked her if she wanted to go out on "a Wednesday" evening. She said no giving no reason but that Wednesday isn't good for her. She's been distant ever since.

She seems like she's got something to say about it the last time we talked although she seemed very reluctant.

Any thoughts? I'm willing to settle for being friends with her...if that's even possible now.

Exactly what's going on in her head? Come in and solve this mystery for me, please.?secure browser

Maybe shes playing hard to get

Maybe she got shy

maybe she had something else totally unconnected to you tear out her heart- a dead animal, a bad boss day, her bank statement comming through...

I cant really solve the problem but I can offer a few ideas on how to approach the problem, though its upto you to play it by ear and pick a good idea or a tangent of one, and to talk about the subject with her.

Maybe you should come clean and say how much she means to you (though in a nice subtle way "I like you, alot, so hows about it then" is a crap idea, more like, "I was a bit confised as I thought you and I were on good terms, whats up" or "did something bad happen?" "you seem really down?" "are you ok?" "did I upset you?" ...etc rephrase to fit the gal appropiately) I f you really are shy yourself, then your in for a winner, blushing and looking devestated while asking what went wrong between us is a way to melt most girls hearts.

Maybe think in your mind "she just wants us to be friends" then take things slowly, ask if you can help, if there is a problem- as a MATE not a "you will have me back" guy, if she can see you as a mate, she gets on well with you, then whatever it is she will feel more at ease, will trust you more, respect you more, and you will have a better chance at being with her for more than a day.

I think the best resolutuin though would be to talk it through, its up to your intuition how to approach it though, like I say I can only offer my advice and float through a few ideas, relationships are usually best dealt with by those in them.

Exactly what's going on in her head? Come in and solve this mystery for me, please.?home theater opera theater

Hey join the club fella. I meet a girl become friends and end up trying to do more but dont want to ruin it.

If i said i fancied her from the start she would'nt of known me enough to be more than that.

It's annoying but JUST TELL HER THE TRUTH...

I will in future.
If she's not willing to at least be your friend b/c you asked her to watch a movie w/ you then it's probably safe to say she's shallow and unworthy of any more of your time or attention. Next time ask her to go and if she says that day isn't good for her, say "Oh, okay when would be good for you?" If she's vague and won't give a definite day you need to move on and find someone who appreciates your efforts.
Maybe it could be that you're being a little too stand-off-ish. Sometimes you need to spell things out. Say "Valentine's" (I know it's over now, but you get my drift), say "a date"...see how she responds. Can it really get any worse?
wow..this is a little confusing..but..the only way to figure out is to tell her exactly what you wrote on here..let her know you didnt want to pressure her..and if it bothered her that you didnt mention that it was a valentines day evening..be straight out with her..
had you been to the theatre with her previously?
girls need constant reassurance that someone likes them. if what you do only leads her to suspect that you like her it will only make her want to retreat. if she has been unassurred about how you felt valentines day would have been the only hope for her to know how you felt. everyone loves on valentines day. i think without having met either of you that she might have been hurt by the way you called it "a wednesday night date" instead of the big "v-day date". the only thing to do now to save your relationship with her is to come clean about what she means to you. honesty is the best way even if it hurts
maybe she is confused too! just give it time %26amp; see what happens :)
I hate girls like this. I think she is playing a little bit of a game with you. Beleive , I have been there. See the problem is that girls are able to pick and choose really easy because the guys are suppose to make most of the initiating advances. So she probably has a few other guys in mind as well and just is enjoying herself. My advice to you is to forget about her like that for awhile. Show that you are somewhat hurt by her behavior and start looking at other girls. dont be fixated on just this one. And she may then start to pick up interest in you more than ever before. I think she is immature myself. But she may also have another boy in mind. So dont be hurt. Just expand your pool of contenders as well.
Dude! just pull her to one side and ask her out right. explain to her what you have explained in your question. There's nothing like being totally honest with the girl. tell her that your willing to just be friends, this will release a little pressure on her side. Life is too short and you only live once. Go for it man!!

Presently I am in the stagews of rehearsing for an upcoming original stage production and I am looki

suitable places to perform at an affordable cost, in need of information on that as well as creating a theatre budget (community)

that is affordable. I would also like to know if any one knows about selling tickets , how far in advance of the production to secure the performance space etc.?

Presently I am in the stagews of rehearsing for an upcoming original stage production and I am looking for?opera singer

A noble effort. I had a small stage company, briefly, in Washington, designed for inner city youth. We often borrowed or begged empty stores.

Community theater so often seasonal, has a majority of days when it remains "Dark" and researching costs to you, for rental, is a step I suggest. Church Halls, Rec. Halls, someones living room or garage, A high school auditorium, or Gym, and even an empty store front, are avenues to explore.

Budget is relative to your dream, and without question, Volunteerism is important, as is soliciting Donations to defray all manner of costs, even to the point of a mention for anyone sponsering in any offering to you. A simple lobby poster, for example stating appreciation to Ed's furniture consigment shop for his loan of a table, or Flowers are US for their contribution, Or patrons such as the couple who had more than they wanted in their garage they were happy to donate.

Some of the worlds most memorable performances were accomplished with the smallest of budgets.

Certainly acquiring a performance venue will dictate timeing for soliciting customers, and only you can know a time frame for perfecting a performance through auditioning, rehearsing, and knowing how long in advance you need for those 2 issues.

Larger, more well established companies and venues likely have their schedule prepared for NEXT year. You may not be so fortunate, but consider what you want to express as a message in the context of how MANY you want to share that with, and how soon, in it's viability, and get about the business of making it happen. TOO far in advance of notice to the public, in a small venue, will be forgotten. Too short a time disallows that the public has time to consider your offering as a valid way to spend time and money.

Another suggestion I offer,,,if you get so far. Many community theaters I've worked with/for have no less than 3 scheduled performances offered; and many allow 10. Most often there are matinees, and at some point near FINAL curtain is one night of "Pay what you can"///Kind of like what anyone does at Church.

That allows that many, not often exposed to culture, will be able to afford it, and might become HOOKED in a general sense.

Tourism Info for Japan?

Hey, I'm plotting a trip for Japan for me and 3 others. We're staying in Okinawa, and we have a budget of around $20,000, about $ 7,000 of which we've already spent on tickets and hotel. In case y'all didn't already guess, this is some stupid school project. I need some tourist places and sights so I can get price estimations and make an itenerary(sp?). We'll be renting a car, so places outside of okinawa are great as well. We'll be there for 11 days, and 10 nights, so we have a lot of time to go see things. I'm especially interested in whatever they have for theatre. Websites woild be appreciated. Thanks. ^_^

These websites should be helpful. Many of them contain prices, too. Good luck on your assignment. It's too bad your not REALLY planning a $20,000 trip to Japan. You could do a lot!

What do you think of ?? Help?

s came out of a long term relationship , last month since the girl broke up with me (started seeing someoneelse) and started on a dating site couple of weeks back and last nite i went with this girl (she is a thai.hot n sexy) for a spiderman. (I am just looking for a booty call nothing serious). Since i ran late for a date, so she bought the tickets before I could reach there and since I felt little uncomfortable , so i bought her snaks..over there in theatre.

On meeting her she gave me a complement that I look lot younger than my age, I am 26 and she was like I look like 22-23. The we went for a movie, i didn't showed any desperation and very cool and we talked for a while..watched movie

After coming out of the movie at (12:30 PM.

I walked her thru the parking lot and she asked me for a HUG

Why didn't she stayed on for few mins to converse with me ??

Do you think she is interested ?? I sent her a sms this afternoon but no response.

What do you think of ?? Help?opera house

Well my question is why do you even care if you are only looking for a "booty call"? Besides it kinda sounds like she isn't that interested. I don't know what you were expecting to happen after the movie but maybe she had somewhere to go and maybe today she had to work or doesn't have her phone with her.

What do you think of ?? Help?dream theater opera theater

Yeah she is just not that into u. And if u just want a booty call u don't go out on an actual date becuase then the girl will get ideas that u might want to date. Maybe she wasn't into a booty call. I'd get over it, meet a chick at a bar or night club and see if u could have a one night stand there since u don't seem interested in anything else.
if that was your first date with her it simply says she wasnt interested she had a wonderful time at the movie and thats all. dont stress it if she dont call just move on good luck

Anyone know of a non-musical play with a large cast that i can produce at the high school that i tea

I am the head of a very successful theatre program at a college prep high school in California. Musicals with large casts are easy to find but i need to find a marketable play that has a cast with more than 18. Obviously there are the "Mid-Summer Night Dreams", "Arsenic and Old Lace"s and "You Can't Take it With You"s... but we have already produced those kinds of shows. I'm looking for something that will accomodate a large number of participants but also will be marketable enough for me to sell tickets? It is a relatively conservative community so something like "The Laramie Project" would not really work. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Our Town by Thornton Wilder is a good one, because you can have as many chorus members as you want %26amp; there are several smaller parts, aside from the principals.

It also requires a very minimal set. ( :

"The Rose of Treason." We did this show at my school last year - it was amazing. Very powerful. I googled it, found the cast is: 18 men, 6 women.

Here's the summary Dramatized by James DeVita. A fictional dramatization set in World War II Germany based on the true story of Sophie Scholl and the resistance group known as The White Rose 18 men, 6 women. Representational set. Approx. running time: 90 min.

In Germany, 1943, a group of university students, appalled at the truth which is coming to light about the Nazi Party, start a resistance group aimed at bringing down Hitler and the Nazi regime. It is a true story of breathtaking courage, selflessness, and utter faith in what is right. The efforts of The White Rose, referred to once as "quite possibly the single most heroic feat in European history", are an inspiring tribute to the goodness of humanity shining even in the darkest moments of history.
Blood Wedding, Lobbyhero, or macbizzle, sorry i'm in a theater but i'm sure you know what i mean, Hamlet . Maybe even To Kill a mocking bird. It all depends on what your commmunity likes and how much you have.
Teahouse of the August Moon -- beautiful, witty script -- room for tons of extras -- the challenge of a Japanese set. I produced it this fall with a cast of 35.
I would say A*B*C (America Before Columbus)

Heidi is always good
I am the stage manager in my drama club and these kinds of discussions come up with our director. Something like The Odd Couple would be perfect. We did a "female" version, all of the original male characters were female and all the original female characters were male. It was hilarious and a HUGE success. If that wouldn't work try another comedy or a murder mystery perhaps.

A comedy might be great but a murder mystery we did was Murder Takes The Stage. This play is great setup and a wide and has a perfect range of characters. Some, super bitchy, proper, the "player", a cazy old woman, a peppy new actress, a hilarious sherriff, and more. We changed the ending made the sheriff funny and very Law and Order and had Larry as a Black guy it was amazing. Huge sucess. I hope this helped. You can contact me for more info, but these plays and others like them would be perfect.
