For example, if a professional musical group or an individual performer was playing at a 2500 seat theatre hall at an average price of $75 a ticket, if you offered them $187500 which is the cost of all the seats taken, would they perform a private concert for just you, assuming you had a house or property large enough to accomodate such a performance? Have very wealthy people done this?

Of course, money is money. Me and some friends rented a park and had a concert headlined by Long John Baldry and The Powder Blues Band. We broke even. We were in our twenties and definitely not rich.

I think so, but you can't FORCE someone to play...but if they wanted to do it for the $$ or publicity or for whatever reason, sure.
Yes, unfortunately everyone has their price. Do you ever watch Sweet Sixteen? It's about rich people giving their daughters a Sweet Sixteen birthday bash, and they find well known rappers or maybe singers (I've only seen rappers) to entertain at their birthday.

Absolutely - many famous singers perform privately but you just don't here about it much.

Maybe, but they're making less money also because there is not as many people...so you'd probably have to pay them a little more than the regular price for a ticket. Oh, and its on your schedule, not theirs plus you'd have to get a hold of them, which may be difficult. Yeah...good luck with that.
well they have private performances on my super sweet 16, but they donmt sell tickets to it. if you wasnted to, i cant see whats wrong with it

Yes, and yes! Money is not the issue though. It depends on whether or not the group/individual would agree to it. You can offer them the moon and stars, but if they don't want the gig, you can't force them!
Here's the deal. You will see reality TV shows where bands do private performances for little obnoxious rich children or some special event for the people on the show. They do this because:

1, the event is being broadcast on television, so even if they are getting paid for the event, they will also recieve royalties from the performance,

2, generally, the network that the show is hosted on is also paying for part or all of the performance.

remember, TV is not real life, adn reality TV is basically fake and scripted.

What you have to keep in mind when trying to bring in a musical group or artist for a show, no matter what size, is the all of the other expenses besides JUST the artist's fee.

you will have to pay a fee for the location that you use, which could range from a few hundred to a few thousand dollars.

you will also have to provide certain things that the artist would require such as food or beverages.

you may have to obtain a license to host a performance depending on where you host it.

there are usually going to be other unforseen expenses as well.

just realize that theres more to come up with than just the artist fee.
